After a year of work, arrived at the summer where we take a well deserved vacation. Many of us decided to travel to various destinations to visit other places or just to get away from our routine life. With this post I would like to open a section on our blog, call Travel Notebooks. I consider interesting to reflect our experiences and impressions gained during these visits, and interesting aspects related to our profession of the following routes:. It is for this reason that I invite everyone to make an entry on their “expeditions” and so give us the opportunity to meet other lares. He wanted to start this section after my trip to the Maldives, a destination that perhaps, no great interest in architecture or urban planning that refers, I would still like to share my experiences.
The Republic of Maldives is a country located in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sri Lanka and India, South Asia, consisting 1.196 islands, of which 203 are inhabited. It owes its name to the derivation in Sanskrit, in which evil means thousands and diva, island. Namely, thousands of islands.

The Maldives held the record for being the flattest country in the world, with a maximum altitude of only 2 meters on the island Vilingili, Aduu Atoll. Although reports indicate a dangerous sea level rise, this level actually fell in recent decades.
An Indian Ocean tsunami caused by the earthquake 26 December 2004, caused a sector of the Maldives to be covered by the sea, left many homeless, killed 82 people and other 26 disappeared. After the disaster, cartographers are planning to redraw the map of the islands devastated by the alterations caused by the tsunami. The people and the government are concerned that the country will eventually be wiped off the map.
